# OODS Foundry > OODS Foundry is an object-oriented design system that extends the one you already have. Your AI assistant drives it over MCP: your objects, traits and brand become React and Vue apps of governed components and tokens, with charts it certifies. OODS Foundry is open source under Apache-2.0. [The public source repository](https://github.com/kneelinghorse/OODS-Foundry) mirrors each release. It runs on your machine as a local MCP server for Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor. Install it with `npx -y @oods/foundry`, registered as `oods-foundry`. It's listed in the official MCP Registry as `com.oods-foundry/foundry`. Apache-2.0: free for any use, including at work. This site is built from the published OODS Foundry 0.10.1: its replies, figures and files are what that version returns and ships. Every page has a Markdown twin at its path with .md added (/start.md, /objects.md); the home page's is /index.md. A request for a page's own URL with `Accept: text/markdown` gets the same Markdown. Try the hosted tools at `https://oods-foundry.com/mcp` over Streamable HTTP, without an account or key: catalog and registry reads, tool schemas, live charts and recorded screen previews. Each tool reply includes the pinned local command and reproduction calls or files. Local stdio is authoritative and offers the full toolset. Hosted artifact_certify takes viz_render input in `chart` and certifies the route's own normalized spec. ## Start here - [For agents](https://oods-foundry.com/agents.md): how an agent installs OODS Foundry, what to call first, every tool with its schemas, the rate limits and the files on this site - [Get started](https://oods-foundry.com/start.md): what you need, the install in each client, the Claude Code plugin, the registry entry, and your first prompt with its real reply - [Home](https://oods-foundry.com/index.md) - [FAQ](https://oods-foundry.com/faq.md) - [License](https://oods-foundry.com/license.md) - [Privacy](https://oods-foundry.com/privacy.md): what this site and its hosted endpoint collect, keep and pass on - [About](https://oods-foundry.com/about.md) ## Guides - [Guides](https://oods-foundry.com/guides.md): the guides that ship with OODS Foundry 0.10.1, shown as written - [Quickstart](https://oods-foundry.com/guides/quickstart.md): From one object file to a running app in your brand. - [Your own objects and traits](https://oods-foundry.com/guides/objects-and-traits.md): Write objects and traits in YAML, check them, and register them without a restart. - [Bring your own objects](https://oods-foundry.com/guides/importing-objects.md): Draft objects from a schema your team already has, review the drafts, and accept the ones you want. - [Your own brand](https://oods-foundry.com/guides/brands.md): Make a brand from a recipe, your colour values or your team's DTCG tokens, checked for contrast before it's written. - [Your own components](https://oods-foundry.com/guides/components.md): Map a shipped component to your own React or Vue component, and read its contract report. - [Maintaining generated apps](https://oods-foundry.com/guides/generated-apps.md): What a new generation gives you, which files are yours, and what it never merges into your app. - [Settings and where files go](https://oods-foundry.com/guides/settings.md): The settings OODS Foundry reads, and the folders your work lives in. ## Tools - [Tools](https://oods-foundry.com/tools.md): all 21 tools;
